Juicer Apple Juice Recipe
You will need roughly 1 x large bag of apples to make approximately 1 x liter of apple juice. Although this is a rough estimate and largely depends on the size of the apples. Juicing is a simple way to make homemade apple juice and is less time consuming than other methods. All you will need is: clean washed apples – red or green are good – and a juicer. If you have a juicer with a large feed chute then you might not need to even cut the apples, which makes the process super fast. If the feed chute is smaller than the size of the apple then you will need to cut the apples into smaller pieces. Don’t worry about seeds or the apple skin, just throw them all into the juicer and let the machine do the hard work for you.

If you are concerned then simply remove the seeds and core before juicing.
For a little festive twist why not add a tiny pinch of cinnamon to add some warmth to the flavor? For a health kick and a little heat you can juice a half-inch of ginger root into the mix too, not only does give the apple juice a little spicy kick but it also increases its health benefits greatly.

Apple Juice Recipe On The Stove
Slightly sweeter than the previous apple juice recipes, this method requires 18 x apples, sugar and cinnamon. You will need to wash and core the apples, removing all the seeds before cutting them into slices and adding them to a pot. Add enough water to just cover the apples and boil them gently for around 20-25 minutes, until apples are quite soft. Using a piece of cheesecloth you will then need to strain the mixture into a bowl. Mash the apples to release as much juice as possible. Once cooled you can add sugar or cinnamon to taste. If the juice is too strong then you can add a little more water to dilute the flavor.
The Benefits of Apple Juice
Apple juice certainly isn’t a drink to consume all the time as the fruit contains high levels of naturally-occurring sugars which can mean weight gain and rotten teeth! There are plenty of health benefits though so there’s no need to despair.
Drinking freshly-made apple juice will support natural hydration as well as providing natural electrolytes too. It’s a great drink if you have a cold and you can add a little ginger to increase the illness-fighting benefits. Apples and in particular apple peel, contain polyphenols which are plant compounds which are said to protect your cells from inflammation. The more pulp that is contained in the juice, the more health benefits you will gain. The antioxidant benefits of these plant compounds can also help to support a healthy brain function by shielding it from damage from free radicals. In a particular scientific study, a group of mice were given apple juice and the results were impressive and they performed better in maze-based memory tastes.
Fresh Is Better
When it comes to fruit juice it’s always better to consume it in moderation. Too much fructose is never a good thing. So long as you’re not drinking sugary drinks every day then you will likely feel the health benefits. Fresh homemade juice is simply not comparable to carton juice. Cartons of apple juice have been pasteurized to give them a longer shelf life. This means that there is almost no vitamins or goodness left in the carton. Drinking cartons of juice isn’t much different from drinking soda.
Fresh is always better when it comes to making juices. Homemade apple juice tastes significantly better too.
